The team excelled in three events, earning first-place medals in Disease Detectives, Potions & Poisons, and Tower competitions. Furthermore, Highland Park is set to host an annual food drive on May 10th, aiming to gather non-perishable food items to support Moraine Township Food Pantry during the summer months when donations typically decline. Lastly, Canal Shores has appointed its first executive director, Bill Sullivan, who brings extensive experience in leadership roles across various sectors.

The Wilmette Junior High School science olympiad team achieved a historic seventh-place ranking at the state championships, surpassing their prior highest finish of twelfth place. This year’s performance marked a significant leap forward for the team, guided by coaches Kevin Swarthout and Caleb Cha. By winning seven competitions throughout the season and securing the team title at the Oakton Regional in March, they earned their berth to the state meet.
